The team (my polys)

sevs and sajicas for me sevs and sajicas for me : thank you so much! That really means a lot to me. Thankfully this forum exists. All the help I've gotten with my tank has been from the wonderful folks of MFK. My tank did not look aesthetically pleasing before.

Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 : thanks Sam couver! Do you still have the dance party lights on your tank? I still need to set mine up. Do you think the LEDs- in addition to the sunblaster-would help the plants grow faster/better?

the fine flip the fine flip : thank you! I have had the polli for about a year. It was actually magpie magpie 's polli originally. She definitely has great taste in polys.

twentyleagues twentyleagues : thank you! The super green moke is Soba, another one of magpie magpie 's fantastic polys.

Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 : I wish. lol. Gotta get the bigger tank first...I can't even wait, but have to. Side note: I am having to restock the 6gal. It's saltwater now, but idk I might want to do fresh. Thinking of either keeping it salt(attempt corals), crystal shrimp, or some type of dwarf puffer.

magpie magpie : thank you! your team is the best. :) Macaroni is such a silly goose and it makes me so happy!

The nano is saltwater right now, but i restarted the cycle. I looked into the crystal shrimp and they prefer soft water with a lower pH. My water's pH averages 7.6-7.8. So I figured even if I purchased a RODI machine, it wouldn't change the pH. I've been super busy so the tank is still rocks. I was thinking about corals cause at least my pH would be okay....but then there's calcium and all the other things to consider...in addition to the expensive corals. So basically I'm still deciding if I want to go that route.

right now I have been doing 75% water changes to almost fin level every 3 to 4 days on the main tank. So I'm still vying for a bigger tank. Thinking 125 instead of a 90 at this point. hehe.

Ro di will lower both ph and hardness. Id keep it salt.
thanks for the correction. :)

I was thinking about doing the RODI thing, but then I read somewhere that using only RODI water was dangerous because of the lack of nutrients and that you would have to add in nutrients. Then I read somewhere and that it doesn't really change the pH, just the mineral content.????

However, I trust your expertise over random comments on the internet. I haven't done enough research, so I don't really know how RODI works, benefits, cons, etc. Do you have any good websites or resources to learn more about it?
