Most people don't understand mantis are safe with corals. Most people assume when they say not reefr safe corals are out of the question. Corals just have to be put in securly so they aren't moved. People have beautiful mantis shrimp tanks with corals. Spearer's are better with inverts than smashers so some larger crabs and such may be safe with them. While smashers destory them but fast fish are better suited for them.

mantis shrimp look pretty sweet i just read like a month ago that they can see more colors than us you think thats true?

I know they have superior vision overall. But idk about more colors but they are sweet inverts. i like them for there colors and how they act I could careless about there killing abilities just another cool thing about them

they have some of the best vision in the animale kindom itt is ture i thinke they are in the top 10 maby even in the top 5! they kinda scar me!

I think top 5 but whos number 1?

I keep a large Peacock in a tank packed with corals. No fish though, they were all eaten by my large tube anemone, which eats big pieces of people shrimp but no live ones.

I had a baby mantis living in a hole in my LR who was about 2" but my fish made quick work of him :( I was kinda hopeing he would make it untill I could set up a bio cube or somthing for him.

Ive really thought about picking up a mantis that could live in a 10 gallon, a spearer, not a smasher, but it seems like they arent available on a regular basis and I dont even know where to start on which one would fit in a 10 gallon. Neat little buggers.

Most random thread ever dude...but yes, cool fish.

Most animals that are "non-reef safe" can live with corals...just not invertebrates. This is similar to a direction that I am going with my 125g reef for now. :D
