just proof that some people actually dont think of piranha as killers.....

piranhas aren't killers, and any novice who believes the stereotype should be shot, they buy them because they just want to see them eat things, and when they are told that feeding mice constantly to them is bad, they ***** at you. any person who has kept at least 2 species of p's, ethier serra or pygo, would have been able to tell you this. This is by no means new information.

no the difference is, that its not coming from people who buy the piranha, this is coming from scientists, someone people might actually belive.... they prolly wouldnt belive you or i......

wow so now they are not killers and they are boreing so whats the point in keeping them :D

yeah but everyone who owns the piranha dvd or has done a little research knows that piranha are scavangers of dead more than killers.

Also anyone who's owned a pygo shoal knows that when they're shoaling it's because they're scared sh$tless.

Nothing against owning piranhas myself. A little boring for me unless you have lots of friends that believe the stereotype. RBP's don't have much personality but piraya, and some serra's have some. Not as much as a cichlid or other fish but a little personality I guess.

I have a DVD of Amazon fish that focuses on Piranha, and it shows that they usually prey on animals that are injured or dead. It is just misconception that they are murderers, they are merely opportunistic.

whats the biggest and smallest pirana? (which species is biggest which is smallest?)

do they get as big as pacu?
