whats the biggest and smallest pirana? (which species is biggest which is smallest?)

do they get as big as pacu?

Not quite as big as pacu.. really not near as big since black pacu can get 4ft.

Forget exacts but biggest are

S. Manueli
S. Rhombeus.
P. Piraya

All maxing out around 2ft or less if I remember from my piranha days.

OK come put your arrowana or cichlid in with my 14 inch Black rhomb and we will c who the agressor is

ok 4ft barramundi against 14" rhomb.. who wins..:)

It's nice to have clout but piranha aren't the be all end all to predatory fish. In fact they're rather low on the food chain.

All it takes is to see the behavior of a lone P and you know they are true tetras - shy and skittish. They are braver in shoals because they have strength in numbers.

i personaly think that most piranha are wimps with the exceptions of some serra. species just because they dont fight head to head like cichlids. but i would still love to own a huge tank full of piyara. jmo

before or after they cannibalize each other...?? (given piraya usual nature to just turn cannibal) ;)

You should just try and grow out a solo piraya...maybe he'll get as big as big frank one day who knows :) Frankenstein being a 22+" piraya...belongs to als from pfury.
