"The ultimate fish bowl"- or cruelty in another form??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hey at least they show a betta in it..not six goldfish

i think it would look awesome as a *very* nano planted setup with shrimp. . . a little sand on the bottom of each, with one small specimen plant per bowl, and little red shrimps everywhere. but it would have to be in the $15-20 range, no way $85.

Ok, well I just shot off a nasty e-mail to customer service. This is what I said:I’m sorry, but what an incredibly STUPID idea. First of all, fish are not decoration. They are living breathing creatures. Those tiny bowls bettas are kept in are cruel. Putting 3 of them together does NOT make it any better. I’m really tired of the misinformation regarding bettas housing needs being repeated over and over again, so that people continue to believe it. Yes, bettas can “survive” in those things, but certainly not THRIVE. You can live in a closet too.For the ridiculous price of $85 you can get a HUGE tank, complete with filtration, lighting, plants, other decoration and be truly a decorative piece in your house, while also giving the fish a suitable place to live. Hell, you could buy four 5 gallon tanks with all that in it. Now THAT’S a suitable place for a betta, not one of those ridiculous things you’re selling at a totally ridiculous price.Give me a break!NJ – owner of two bettas in 6 gallon Eclipse system tanks. Now THAT’S fish living the way they should and the envy of all those bettas in those little bowls.

To which they will probably respond by sending a picture of the "fish bowls" they live in and how well they are thriving. You don't make it far in this world if you aren't exploiting something (not that this is right, of course)
