Anybody here ever kept a platypus?

I assume there are legal boundaries, but I was reading about them and they only grow 20" or so. I imagine the husbandry is demanding and they'd still need a much larger enclosure than a similarly sized fish, but still....maybe not impossible?

(No I'm not trying to get one haha.)

This could be an interesting thread. How about an armadillo or a badger?

Armadillos are the only animal known to carry leprosy - but I have heard of them making great pets. They are very friendly and docile.

Badgers - I've heard of as feral pets as well. No clue on Platypuses! I believe they need a near-constant source of food, which could be problematic given their specialized diet. Then there's the messy factor (splashing, etc.)
But you're right - it's the ultimate oddball all right!

Yeah! I think you'd need a near constant source of crabs. -looks down the block at Chinatown-

A pet armadillo would be really cool. I'd be terrified of a badger, though. Those things are big and unfriendly.

Yep,I heard about armadillos and Leprosy from none other than Oddball himself.

How about a pangolin?

I actually just watched a video of somebody playing with wolverines in the wild - he had raised them. Sweet video.
A pangolin - very cool - I have heard of them being kept as pets actually.
