what do you mean skinnier?? side to side or top to bottom? I think its just an illusion in pics and video cause this guy isnt skinny. and the pale part is just the difference in color tone. the color and body profile varies from location to locations. the strain we are used to seeing are the rio Magdalena. but i like that they are different. i think i would loose interest if all the fish in any particular species group had exact same colors and tones. gotta love variety. hopefully the lucky guys who have this strain will be successful in breeding so we can all get a lil taste of variety;)
 
Believe me this fish is far from being skinny and as for his coloration. His color is a light blue with a hint of gold on his side. My camera and lighting suck. I tell you what The Animal Guy, If you live in Southern California and don't mind driving to Riverside, I invite you to my house to see him in person. Then you can make your own assesment. However it will be worth the trip to see this guy in person, Ill even show you some of the other guys I have not yet posted. The future stars from my camp.
