had an idea for filtration i want to run by yall. use some large diameter to make some sponge filters. what yall think? i could run airlines under the substrate. i have plenty of air pumps.
 
Only problem with that is sponge filtration is mainly a bio type filter and with the caimans your going to want more of a mechanical type filtration to get all the poo and what not out of the water...
 
That should work fine as far as bio, but you will need to vacuum the bottoms a little more often. Although you might be able to just set up a canister to run for an hour or so on the weekends when you do cleaning. Set it up, let it run, take it back out. It doesn't need to have bacteria, since it would just be mechanical filtration on weekly basis...
