Just a quick idea, why dont you put some water hyacinth in the water. Very easy to care for and does not need high lighting. Besides they would look good in the water and are easy trim, and unlike other water plants you can take them out easily as they dont root in the pond. Also you caiman can sit on top of them when they mat together. I have a bunch of them in my pond if you want some. Wont charge you (besides shipping).

I mean besides, LOOK at that flower. Almost exciting to look at when the bloom.

i second this if it's legal. here in texas, it's illegal to own water hyacinth

Thats true, I dont know the laws in PA but here in FL they are a invasive plant species. I know if you find them your suppose to destroy them. But in my pond theres no harm they can cause.

They should be alright up in PA since it gets too cold for it to survive for long if it escaped the pond. Something to be wary of though is that you will not be able to see claudia when she is in the water once those plants start taking off.

Just section of a small peice of the pond. Besides they are like the easiest plant in the work for maintence. Just yank them out of the pond. Just a though and i have some you can just have if you want. Good luck.
