  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
first time is always hard to get a fertilized batch.. but as long as you get a few then at least you know the male is capable.

weird double post.. Thinking the dead eggs are my fault. Filter was off and I hit it and it turned back on, probably killed a decent amount of the eggs.
could be ...depending how long it was off... do you have an airstone with a fine mist ..that helps too..

congrats soon to be proud parent, what are your plans for them?

more dead eggs but maybe only 20%.

Are the unfertilized eggs the ones on the base of the tank? or are some in the flower pot. Maybe the male was having a hard time finding them all. :D

pft, I thought my female was a bad parent, the male didn't fertilize them! They all slowly died so maybe he did, who knows. I haven't done a water change on the tank in 2 weeks either. I'm always worried to do water changes when I think my fish are going to breed. I always think it will break up my pair if I mess up the tank. Now that all their eggs are dead they're going to get a 80% or so water change when I have the time.

When the filter kicked back on it didn't throw anything in the water, and I also had another HOB, canister filter, and sponge filter on the tank. Think it was just a stupid male. Funny thing is that I set up a 20gallon with a rose queen flowerhorn in it last night about 6" away from their tank. They've been trying to fight him off ever since.. He's messing with them too lol. Rather have them take their aggression out on a fish they can't reach rather than their tank mates which have been fine so far.
