I dropped off my 500G in my garage today, and my mind is swirling with stocking. This tank is a tall tank, 4 feet tall so I really have to think of something to take up that depth.
7' x 2.5' x 4' x 1.5" Acrylic. The tank has some dings but doesn't appear to be of any danger, will need sanding and buffing. The tank has no holes drilled anywhere, but it does have a built in overflow. I am not sure what type of drill bit and what power of drill i will need to get through all that acrylic, my current drill smoked on 3 holes through .5.
I am expecting a year wait. My wife said lets do it right, since this is so tall, we are going to hire a structural engineer to run steel Ibeams under the floor int the basement; or what ever they say to support 3 tons.
It has tops to, so I am thinking this might be a closed loop setup, with another super think sheet of acrylic, to cover the complete top including the lids.
