I thought maybe you were younger since they required a permission slip to see old yeller. back when I was a kid the parents didn't care about things like this. but i'm not much older than you

it's a tv show, sure it's dark territory but I can separate fact from fiction. it's a tv show, it's ok to show kids getting killed. I think it's great that they are doing things like this because it's things that could actually happen in that world

I also think it's retarded that a teacher might be fired or punished for showing a movie for the purpose of teaching, only because it has a sex scene. protect them from sexual immorality at school yet they come home to see miley cyrus twerking on youtube or listen to their mp3's with songs with very illicit lyrics

heck, in highschool, my history teacher showed us a movie (don't remember the name but it was a movie about a president) where there was a graphic sex scene and the teacher used a folder to cover the screen during the sex scene. you can still hear it but she just covered the screen.

our kids are being too wussified these days

and you are how old? 54 here, and any schoolr ever show a flick with sex in it to my little girl or boy there be hell to pay. i have 6 kids, 12 to 27, born and raised in south cali.

Were you bothered by the hunger games and the age range that book was marketed toward as well as the reading level?

I dont hold cable to the same standards as the regular national channels. I dont think this is pushing any line since its not on basic channels.

i was in highschool

i'm fine with it if a movie with a short sex scene is shown to my kids IN HIGHSCHOOL. by that age, they would've already seen sex scenes. i'm sure your kids have as well by the time they are in their teens

sorry pops, but i think that kind of thinking is part of the problem with the wussification of our kids. i know that might offend you but it's not my intention. and it's just my personal opinion. this is a very subjective topic and i respect everyone's opinion but i gotta call it like i see it

Don't California schools show sex nowdays(I thought I heard about it once)?
 
no wussafication is not letting my kids play play war or even say the word gun, that has nothing to do with the moral implications of sex, 2 dif things, i have always tought my kids this going to bully you hit him. again 2 dif things. i am not offended just think you have it wrong.
