A fart let out in the middle of a wedding toast is gruesome as well as shocking to you? Completely different emotion

Marilyn mason getting married was shocking to krich? Again gruesome? Lol.

Shocking is closer to surprising then it is gruesome.

plus two things don't have to mean the same thing to go hand in hand

and I think I'd call the sofia scene one of the most emotional scenes. that would be a more accurate description. sure it's shocking too, but that would not best describe it
 
To each their own bro. Horror can be shocking but that had zero element of surprise, shock or emotional attachment for me. It barely had suspense. All they had to do was kill someone that mattered and itd change it for me.

I actually find Herschel beheading or garreath fingers shot off to be more gruesome then some nobody's being bloodlet. The scene truly won't live on with me. It honestly doesn't even register when i reflect back on the season.

beheading is up there. not so much because it was a beheading but because it was a main character.

while slit throats are the ufc

i'm not even saying it will be the most remembered.

just that at this point, if you ask anyone what was the most shocking and gruesome scene, I believe they will say the slitting throats scene.

it takes the top spot right now because of the whole package of the scene. they're not hacking zombies, not using guns. it's live humans lining up other live humans on a trough and slitting their throats in a slaughter house for the purpose of being food. that has all the elements to be exactly what it was meant for. gore, shock, gruesome, cringing

not to mention knocking them out with a louieville slugger before slitting their throats. that was almost Hostel level shock and gore
 
Good lord, i believe a majority would say its most gruesome but not most shocking. We've established our diff of opinions and why several times. Dont make me make a poll to show its NOT most shocking even if it is most gruesome.

I can think of a half dozen other scenes that are more shocking.

you're saying it's gruesome, but not shocking. or at least not the most shocking.

and besides, even in gruesome terms, the only thing that comes close is Hershel losing his head.
