I felt weird reading a few of the articles, just like that, they are most likely gone. Even if we find more they are to small a population and would suffer from inbreeding and die out anyway. Frankly a real shame, the last captive dolphin died in 2002. If you going to post something about Chinese people with any narrow minded view keep it to yourself.

Yes it does. I was doing an essay for an online class and one of the things I mentioned was the Baiji so I had to bring it up here. Why wasn't more done, why does there seem to be so few that know?

This really pisses me off. The f-ing chinese govt knew before this f-ing project that there was a 30% chance of the Yangtze River Dolphin becoming extinct as a result of this f-ing dam. And the f-ing biologists didn't even think to start a captive breeding program before the 3 gorges dam was built????:irked:

Edit: To insert word GOVT

Well the dolphins didn't kill themselves...

Thank you!!! The chinese govt didn't look at the future consequences of the 3 gorges before hand. I hope more algae, harmful bacteria, and pathogens develope in the lagoons that the 3 gorges dam has created and kills some chinese engineers and biologists for their environmental sins....

The world's most endangered cetacean is now the Gulf of California porpoise Phocoena sinus, or "vaquita", of which a few hundred remain. It is also threatened by accidental by-catch.

Are you going to also call them f-ing mexicans for endangering vaquita?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_extinct_animals_of_the_United_States

f-ing americans for causing these animals to extinct?

Maybe it's not the people but their govt who is responsible for the extinction and survival of their animals, such as california condors and giant pandas.

You are right "chinese" is a too general term. Insert "govt" after every time I said "chinese".

The difference between Americans and the Chinese govt is that the Chinese govt do not even make an attempt to preserve endangered species, as the river dolphin, while Americans do.

Btw, I know this fish hobby, consists of chinese, japanese, americans, canadians, whoever, is endangering major fish species from south america. Maybe you should only buy cb species.
