The Yeti.... Science finally confirms something truly IS there.

I'm missing something here

I don't get how this is news concerning a yeti. from what I understand, a yeti is like a bigfoot that is a half man half ape like creature that walks upright

and here they found a bear. what does that have to do with a yeti?

so if they find a hybrid manatee, can they say or confirmed that they found a mermaid?

if anything, this story further proves that there is no yeti and that it's just a bear that people have been "sighting"

That last point you made is kind of what I'm trying to convey. Through the search for this cryptid, a large animals DNA was uncovered suggesting an ancient bear still roams the earth today, and proving that people have actually been seeing something. That means the bear IS the Yeti.

I guess to see this you have to look at the Yeti not as an ape-man, but as an unknown creature that people have been seeing.

no it doesn't mean the bear is the yeti. the bear finding can be a discovery by itself and have nothing to do with the yeti thing.

the yeti thing is just as stupid as the bigfoot thing. so if we found some hybrid bear in north America, that doesn't mean we solved the bigfoot case. it just means we discovered a freaking bear hybrid

the tards that believe in yetis are just using this story to give the yeti fans an erection

This isn't even saying yetis are real. It just means there might be a more plausible reason for yeti sightings. A bear standing on its hind legs seen from a distance could easily be mistaken for a large hominid

I know that a Grizzly x Polar bear hybrid has been found, but the only reports of a brown x polar bear hybrid have come from breeding's at zoo's, which by the way have produced fertile offspring.

A Grizzly and a Brown Bear are the same species (Ursus arctos) if you are talking about North American bears.

Polar bear X Grizzly hybrids occure in the wild on ocasion where their ranges overlap. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grizzly–polar_bear_hybrid The history of the Polar bear can be found here: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/arctic-bears/how-grizzlies-evolved-into-polar-bears/777/

Interesting artical about Yeti, I guess I could see how the legend could come from stories passed down from generation to generation. No one wants to tell a boring story so it get emblished like the boggy man.

I wish Darius/akuma could break this down for my simple pea brain.

All I get is there is no yeti but many dark bears roaming the himilayians.

Hard to believe this guy went about it subjectively. Sounds like his thesis was twisted to fit what he wanted to find. Peer review findings will be interesting

In short a big ass hairy, rarely seen creature has been a different big ass hairy, rarely seen creature all along.
I actually laughed aloud reading that one JK47. Science simplified, I like it.

I don't buy it. you can't mistaken a bear for a yeti or bigfoot. unless you were eating wild mushrooms
