So my friend just got these tetras that are like cave tetras and they adapted by not growing eyeballs and are see threwish but have flesh and there head and gill area looks like zombified blood redish no eyed tetras... its creepy... hence the word zombie o__o. So anyone know anything about these creppy lookin tetras???

I kept some when i was in high school. Just kept it with neutral ph water. Black background as i was trying to replicate the dark environment that it came from.
I also read somewhere that it lost its eyesight from years of living in the dark.
yah thats the guy... for some reason it looks more icky in person. It was weird how they go crazy for food and stuff b/c they use smell b/c they have no eyes and they dont stop looking for food untill its gone o__o they even tore up a sick danio. Thats all I really know bout them.
blind cave tetras can see at first, but as they grow their eyes get covered and their other senses become more acute. I think they're neat, but I won't suggest gettin them because my b/f probably won't let me...he won't even let me get an upside down catfish.
I used to see these guys all over the place, but now...there far and few. Is their 15 minutes of fame over? 
I dunno I have never seen them before then out of all palces my friend finds em at walmart.... so he goes ohwell there neat and buy's them and then I went over and he goes look so I looked and thats what I saw I was like thats so eww but at the same time it was really cool to watch them so I fed them food man they go crazy. I have a new intrested in them cuz they so weird looking. Ne ways I agree dead dreaming go tell you man you can have them and if he say no then pain shall be inflicted!!!
