ya i did but when i washed my bio balls i put them in this bucket i found in the garage so i dont know if anything was in it before.

what would i have to do to stop this

OK...... If it is a salt tank, you will get foamy bubbles ANYTIME there is turbulence. In fact, the very purpose of a protein skimmer is to create foam (which attracts proteinaceous waste and is removed from the system).

If this is a salt tank, that is absolutely NORMAL. The difference in density between salt and fresh explains why one foams and the other does not.

Once the PS gets dialed in the bubbles should stop. It took a few days for me to get my PS working properlly and stop w/adding extra bubbles to the tank.

I don't think he's talking about the skimmer. His pictures show bubbles in the prefilter area of the sump (i.e. upstream of the PS).

It's funny, I didn't even see the PS the first time I saw this post..... I was assuming freshwater...... and I was WRONG! : )

If you are talking about the bubbles in the prefilter area that is completely normal. If you are talking about bubbles in your tank, it is normal also but there are things you can do about it. I have had my skimmer discharge through foam or baffles.
