Synodontis catfish are strictly FW fish, preferring softwater--the exact opposit of hard, salty water.

They will bicker with each other when they are young but when they mature, they'll school together.... its weird. I love them though. I have them in with 16 mono argentus and seabe.

That's what I thought but I've known them to be rather high PH fish along with Rift Lake African Cichlids.
