For my tanks I use a submersible pump hooked up to a hose, put the pump in the tank and plug in. Drains the tanks super fast, without wasting water to create the syphon. Works great as I can be draining one tank while using the python to refill another. On the tanks under 40 gallons I still use the python to drain and fill, but I usually do those while my 180 is draining. I have figured out a routine with the draining and filling of my 10 tanks that I can do a 50% WC on all of them in about 2hrs. The total volume of my tanks currently running is 570 gallons, so I'm changing about 300 gallons of water as I usually do about 75% on my Tropheus tanks.
There has to be an easier way!
