Who is feeding the snake and why does it stay in the aquarium? Can't you just put a big branch in there and let it crawl out. Open the doors in Spring and let it outside.

i hate to make things worse or at least more uncomfortable for you but if its too cold outside for the snake to be released then that means it is too cold for him to have been living out there. more than likely it has been living in your house for sometime now.
Wow, my phone lines go out for a night and I missed out on all the fun!!! Thanks to all for support, ideas, and the harassment. Wouldn't know what to do without you guys! 
I'll do the right thing for the snake, just frustrated because My Poor Aro really wants his big tank. He's busy trying to catch by 1 1/2" buffalo head that scoots all over the bottom, it's so fast and camo'd that he can't catch it. Heh heh heh it's really funny to watch.
I'm snake jumpy because I live on rattler hibernation dens and they are really, really aggressive here. So I'm always running into them on the porch, in the yard, EVERYWHERE and I usually don't notice until they strike, these don't rattle first, that strike a couple times them rattle. Eeek

Looks like I found a local person to take the snake, so within a week I should have my tank ready for action! Weehaaa

The cowboys old old used to lay a rope in a circle around where they were going to sleep on the ground, it's said that snakes won't crawl over the rope... So maybe you could lay a rope around your house to keep them out (SEVEN FOOT THICK ROPE!!!)
