Hello everyone,
I have been struggling to reduce the number of worms in my aquarium. Initially, they hid beneath the decorations, but now they roam freely in plain sight. I introduced crabs, shrimps, and plecos, hoping they would feed on the worms, but instead, the worms multiplied. I can now see them even during the day, which has raised concerns that they might begin attacking my pufferfish.
Some people in the forum have suggested that these worms are flatworms, while others have identified them as different species, but no one has provided a definitive answer. This lack of clarity has made it difficult to determine whether the worms are dangerous or how to address the issue effectively.
I clean the decorations daily by wiping them with a cloth, yet by the next day, they are once again covered with worms. I do not overfeed the fish, but I suspect that tiny leftover food particles from pufferfish bites might be sustaining the worm population.
My primary concerns are as follows:
What species are these worms?
Are they harmful to my fish?
If so, how can I eliminate them safely and effectively?
Any insights, advice, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. I have also included a link to the video I recorded for reference.

Looks like planarians to me. They aren’t going to attack the fish, but I have heard of them going after shrimplets/eggs.
Puffers are such messy eaters that even if you’re not deliberately over feeding, there’s a huge mess left over.

Planaria or detritus worms are a sure sign that you are overfeeding. My wife has a small tank in the kitchen, she's in charge of feeding it. She's a little heavy handed on the feeding so of course it's full of detritus worms.

I keep telling her but unless the subject is about shoes or a new frock, she just doesn't listen to a word I say.
