They are eating already!

I know, I know, I should have made a new thread, but this way, people can see some growth of my poly.

Been feeding it mostly bloodworms, on rare occasions rosie feeders, and as of late, earthworms and silversides. Holy cow, these things have an appetite!!!

I cut an earthworm in half last night, roughly 1/4 the size of my senegal, and he loved it. Or hated it. :) I've never seen a fish do barrel rolls before. I swear, it rolled at least 10 times in a row. Greatest thing I've ever seen. And he's is also taking silversides from my fingers now at the top of the water.

I thought Oscars had personality, they are so boring after watching the senegal swim and eat. :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2

A picture from when I first got him.

Here he is last night wrestling a worm. Look at how skinny he is.

And if you are curious about the brown knife, it jumped ship. Never found it. I think one of our 2 cats may have found it before we did. :(

thats amazing how much he grew, as for your knifefish, here is what mine did when i got him, i dnt want to type it again so here is a little cut and paste,

"i was also using my forty gallon to put my senagal bichir in because he was in a 12 gal. grow out so when i got home i cut open the bag with the knife in it and attached it to the side of my tank to let him ajust to the water temp.. so i went over to my 12gal. to bag up my senagal in a ziplock bag (a big gallon sized one, not one of those little ones) and brought the bag back to my 40gal. to clamp to the side of it when i found out my knife fish had actually JUMPED out of the bag and into the tank:WHOA:. there he was just casually swimming around while my friend and i look at him all confused. i knew that they could jump but i didnt expect that at all:WHOA:. will post pics later." good luck with your poly.

I remember that thread. I have since bought a clown knife. I know he's hiding in the plants, but that's all I have seen of him in 2 weeks. Very shy, dashes out to get some bloodworms, then back into the plants.

He is in our 29 we were using for a growout tank, and when he swims along the sides, he a little less than half the length of the glass. Maybe 5 inches? I might have been off on my original thought of 3" when I bought it. 2 inches in a month seems a bit much.

hopefully mine will grow pretty fast. right now it is maybe 2" at max....in a 10 gallon grow out until he can get along in the 29 mini predator tank.
