When I clean my substrate I use a gravel vac which connect to a hose and run all water onto the grass and plants (they love it), I only remove about 100L or so and fill up with a 50L bucket.
I use a hose that is ment for a pool vac when doing a water change, 25%-50%, it emptys about 120 gallons in under 1 min. I have to watch and be careful as if a fish gets near it they will die from the cut of getting sucked onto it. I fill up with a bucket right now, 50L at a time.
I did have a 300 gallon water tank which was heated at 25*C with a pH of 7 and airated to circulate the water, I would then pump the water into my tank. I use to fill it up after evey water change and add prime to both the water tank and my fish tank but my brother hit the tank with my car and now I have to buy a new tank, my brother causes me a lot of problems.
