This happened today. And I am not happy. I room with a friend from high school in an apartment across from our university.Today she came back with a "cute fishy". I have a 65g with a small bgk and fire eel, they will stay in there until they grow big enough for a larger aquarium. Well, I haven't been in all day. I was in the next city over with my friends.

As it turns out, the cute little fishy in a &$^#*@ green spotted puffer.

I don't think I need to tell anyone what happened.
The picture was off my cell, but you can see the damage to their tails. For sure the bgk lost it for good, im hoping the eel didn't but it probably wont grow back either.
The puffer was in the net, had to take everything out to catch him. His fate is yet to be determined. Probably his own little brackish tank.
She can pay for it all, I hate that fish.

Wait, your roomate thinks it's okay to just throw fish in your tank right from the store?!
My hubby did that once and got his butt chewed over lack of research and quarantine and he has been scared to buy fish ever since. If one had done permanant damage to one of my fire eels you can bet it would be catfood by now. Or stomped on.

Believe me, if I wouldnt feel bad about it later id kill the puffer. I just got that eel too. Im in denial that it wont heal.

man, sorry to hear about that. there was a thread in the knifefish forum about whether bgks could grow their tails back, i forget the verdict but you could try looking that thread up. i have a gourami that got her fins bit up pretty badly not they/re healed to the point that you would never know they got bit up. good luck!
