Dorsal finlets don't grow back unfortunately. The webbing does, but not the finlet itself

Could be wrong, but those are all talking about "broken" finlets. I was under the assumption it was kind of like a broken arm. It can heal and straighten back, but it won't grow back if cut off. Some of them also talk about the "webbing" being torn, that and pectoral fins should grow back, but I'm not sure about dorsal finlets. I've had a couple Retros that have their dorsal finlets missing and they never grew back.

Apparently there is a trend with some of the overseas poly owners to cut the filets to 'fix' a bent growth. The consensus is that if it is genetic it will grow back in crooked, if it were an accident or something like that that it would grow back in straight.

I really curious on this. Mine is just the tip and it looks like it would be easy to just grow back in since it is not low by the muscle. I might just have to PM Burbotman about his...

I know I've heard of that for tails and a little bit for pectoral finlets, but I haven't heard that for dorsal finlets.

Definitley an interesting thought. Keep us updated on if it grows back.
