Thank you!!! The stripes wern't all that bold until a few months ago...... Was rather blotchy before that.

Dat's been in there almost a year. Funny thing is comes right over and takes food out of the mouth of Thickness, He tries to give chase but seldom lasts to end of the tank and back. Dat is just too fast.

They actually make a pretty good pair, ALWAYS together, as in within a few inches of eachother. Funny thing is I kept a 3 inch Dat in there for months as well before moving it elsewhere.

yeah i always read about fahakas not tolerating any tankmates, yet i threw a 'feeder' goldfish in with my fahaka like 3 months ago (it was a feeder that my crays couldnt catch for some reason)

and she hasnt touched it

IMO Fahakas are a little more tolerant than is believed

I think the key is the tankmate must NOT intimidate the puffer. OR be too fast for the puffer to catch. IF it's bigger than the puffer it will not work.

I tried mine with a pair of 20+ in knives..... Within 20 minutes it was obvious it wasn't going to work. One of the knives never recovered.

You think the knives intimidated the puffer?

I can't wait until my crays start breeding. I put two white convict fry about 3/8" in the tank with mine and one is still there 3 weeks later. It'd be cool if he makes it.

Love the dat combo!
