This poor little guy died from gill flukes. One of my best tigers... he was always stable.24. 7...:(

Got some Kazuri wormer plus,.......... i'm gonna add. no signs on the other tigers though... for now.

Heavy breathing, swollen and red around the gills. loss of appetite.... can be quite bad and i heard it has wiped out a few tanks before.
 
That's terrible.
You better get some fenbendazole and treat your tank.
It's fairly easy and harmless.
The only trick is weighing it.
I used a digi gram scale and bought it from a Koi pond supplier.

I loss many thin bars to the symptons you describe. Its not gill flukes. I feel its something else. More on the line of Kidney desease, leading to adominal dropsey. If it was flukes, I could cure it no problem.
 
itkilled a blood parrotof mine...was my 1st fish death, nasty.

I've lost a few nice thinbars to the ailment that i thought was flukes.Once the heavy gasping starts its usually too late.I have saved one with meds.
