and for the love of all the new gods and the old, ironic does not mean a coincidence despite how popular that horrid Canadian singer's song was. I've yet to hear someone use irony correctly in common conversation.
 
One that bugs me is "crescent" wrench. Crescent is a vendor of wrenches, one of which happens to be the iconic adjustable wrench. Its doesn't make every adjustable wrench a "crescent" wrench. Just like the Band-aid and kleenex and Q-tip confusion

I was just conversating with people a couple days ago about this subject.
 
One of my biggest peeves is when people refer to shrimp as shrimps...another is when they call Dungeness crabs Dungenese.
