Things That Are Said Incorrectly So Much That They Are Accepted As Correct

I think hoagie is strictly a Philly term...they are referred to as subs just about everyplace else...Grinder is rarely used.

I just edited my post to say that. It might be used in south Jersey too. I'm form the North and North and South Jersey are two different worlds.

I've heard that before about the two halves of Jersey but was never sure about what was meant...Care to enlighten?

Giants/Yankees North Pilllies/Eagels South, Taylor Ham North Pork Roll South, Sub North Hoagie South. The accent is different basicly South Jersey is like Eastern Pa. Where North Jersey is like Western NY. I was born in Bayonne accross the river from Staten Italy and have the typical Jersey accent people think of (not exagerated like Joyzee no one actually says that......lol) That's the big differance I'm a bennie (the south Jersey term for a visitor from the north) when I go "down the shore".

Which one has the shores and all the snooki's?
(not a derail, they have terrible grammar so it works)

The sea shores are in the south but the snooki's would be typicly from North Jersey, Staten Island and Brooklyn types. She is a little exagerated too but you do find them.

Yeah..."down the shore",I like that one.

Tennis shoe is a good one. I've always called it that and only played tennis for fun a handful of times. And when I did play I wore basketball shoes.

Only time I heard of a hoagie is when I was in philly. And my wife's from MN. they call it pop. Now she calls it soda as well
