He's a polychaete worm according to another, more detailed articled I just found. He also digested the hooks that they had the bait on when they were first trying to catch him... it digests metal, too, great. Seriously, I'm never going in the water again now... ever.

Yea, I'm just thinking about the times I've been out to the reef. Wouldn't want to run into one of those.
