No salt does not burn the fish when it is added in low quantities. It helps reduce stress and helps as a general tonic.

You should add it to your tanks and it will reduce the stress of your fish.

Just to be clear, when we say salt, we mean API Freshwater Aquarium Salt. Not table salt..

my brown african knife had a similar experience in getting stuck in rocks. he scratched up his eye and his whole body pretty badly cuz he was so stressed and fighting so hard to get out. 6 months later and you wouldn't know he had it happen. your knife will be fine. i would continue to add salt doses to help the healing
