I was at pets*art yesterday and looking at the terrible conditions their fish were in, then i saw a beutiful 3" male JD. I just had to save the poor little guy(impulse buy). Well he is in with fish that range from 4"-7", and they have been in the tank for a few weeks. So i was wondering if you guys think the JD will make it since he is small and new to the established crew. He seems like hes acting a little strange. He has a bit of damage to his right side but nothing significant, and he always gets chased around. So any help would be great! Thank you so much.

Completely re-arrange the tank and make sure there's a few places for the JD to retreat to. It won't be too long before you have to decide which of the fish you want to keep anyway. Those 4 won't all be able to stay in your 120. It's a 48"x24" isn't it?

Buy some egg crate and make a small divider if you have to or get even something like a 10g as a hospital until he's 100% and can defend himself.

yeah, i will second the divider.

What are the jd's tankmates? and i say if he's not 100% being a little guy and the new guy his chances don't sound good.

i'm guessing he means these

120g-5" jack dempsy, 5" red devil, 7" red terror, 4" texas

I don't know how i missed that but anyway the little jd is as good as dead and probly the larger 1 in time as well.

Well... is there anything i can do to boost his survival rate? I just rearrenged the entire tank and they havent been chasing him as much but he doesnt look all that great. What should i do with this situation???:nilly:

Man that's a tough situation, the tank was plenty stocked without adding the JD. You could try the divider like previously mentioned...or.....time for a new tank..lol :headbang2
