So I'm selling my motorcycle (too many idiots on the road now a days), and my wife has agreed to let me put together my dream tank with the money I get out of it.

So I think I'm going to go with a 500 G (likely the 4' wide dimension version)

So on to dreaming about stocking

I'm thinking the following:
1X Jardini (if possible, not sure if this would work out)
1X male dovii or umbee
1X TSN
Maybe some smaller, less agressive fish (Lyonsi, JD, severum etc)

Not sure what else to put in there, or what to take out. What do you guys think? I'm really not sure about the jar.

Filtration will likely be a 100 gallon DIY sump.

I have multiple tanks to grow out fish in. Nothing will be eaten because of size.

Let's talk just about the compatibility of fully grown fish :)

In general a Jardini likes to be alone. A dovii or umbee likes to be alone also. A 500g is big but these fish have reputations for being killers of their tankmates.

I personally would rather have a community of large fish based around a black arrow, and some sa/ca cichlids that get big but not as aggressive like a pearsei, and then a large schooling fish like wide bar silver dollars.

Stingrays? I know they're not for everyone, but a big SA community with some smaller species of ray is probably what I would do

To great tips and options. Mix both of them

2 rays
2 pearsi
3 lysoni
2 bocourti
and other mild aggressive fish.
driftwood,
large rocks
sand bottom, would look great.

I would think more about rays if they weren't so dang expensive. Heck.....I might do it anyway.

How do they get along with some of the more aggressive CA/SA's? I'm thinking:
1 trimac, 1 managuense, 1 Festae, 1 GT, 3 Lyonsi, 1 JD, 1 Mayan to go with a pair of Rays or a Jur cat (one of the two).

That, or I might just do a breeding pair of Dovii or Umbee with a TSN or Jur cat.

Still can't make up my mind.

Is this tank going to be 8 foot long? If so go with a trio of black aros in an amazon themed tank.

Yes. It'll be an 8 foot long tank and at least 36" wide.

That would be pretty cool.

How do Aros (black or silver) get along with CA/SA cichlids? I've heard mixed things. And I'd rather have cichlids than aros.

Armatus, armatus armatus!!! Peacock bass, and STING RAYS<333 thats what I have right now and it completes my life lmao
