You will need to prioritize your fish though as there is always the possibility of trouble with jars so you might have to change your tanks around. I've been lucky with mine and have had him in a comm tank for almost 2 years.
I didn't have success with oscars though. I had one in the comm for a little over a year, but he was very aggressive. I originally had two and he killed his buddy. He also used to constantly bother the jar. The jar took it most of the time, but sometimes lost his cool which resulted in the oscar losing some skin.
I eventually gave the oscar to an LFS and I still see him from time to time as he hasn't been sold yet...
