My friend said a 10g would be fine for a male or female. Is this suitable?

How fast do they grow?

What size do they get?

What food?

What stuff besides a tank and heat mat will i need? I want it to look nice

How much does a standard leopard gecko cost?

(this is the worst one) Do you need to cycle a reptile tank?

Thanks!

To small, go for somehing bigger.
How fast do they grow?
In one year they will be almost, if not already full grown.

What size do they get?
They get to be like 20cm long, giants are bigger.

What food?
Insectivorus, roaches, mealworms, crickets and waxworms.

2 hidding places, some cork, rocks, kitchen paper, water and food bowls, a termometer and possibly a termostat.

How much does a standard leopard gecko cost?
Like 30$ for a young one.

No, wonder why you would even consider:confused:

Thanks!
Dont forget to do lots of reserch online. This is only the start.

u can do anything for lighting , a florescent is enough as there nocturnal.

what else would you like to know, also I think this thread will be moved to the other spot. You should look into purchasing one from someone on here, then you can talk to them about it and you know they got your back. I think Vicious Fishy is selling some and I know he takes well care of his animals.

1. a single gecko should be fine in a 10 gallon but bigger is always better.

2. They should reach full size in about a year

3.they can get to be about 8-10in(my biggest girl is 9 1/2 in)

4. Variety is key when feeding. As a staple mealworms, roaches, and crix are good and very practical. Superworms, waxworms(sparingly), pheonix worms and butterworms(last two very healthy) are also good.

5. Give them a substrate such as newspaper, reptile carpet, or papertowels fpr thier first year and you can switch to washed play sand when they reach full size(some will disagree on that one).

6. A standard baby leo will be anywhere from 25-35$.

7.Well... you don't want the tank full of nitrate and amonia

Google leos and I garantee you will find much more. Try to get caresheets from breeders those are the best ones. Great pets to have especially for a first reptile. Very personable.

Some will say a ten gallon is fine BUT in my honest opinion a twenty long is the minimum... Its not like its a huge hit to buy one either you would feel better about it in the end. But they are very easy no special lighting needs dont even really need a light just an UTH and some paper towel a few hides of course having a moist hide is going to be highly recommended. They are very calm and alot of fun to take care of GOOD LUCK

I agree, go with a 20 gallon long. It's really hard to have a proper temperature gradient in a 10 gallon.

If you're interested I have some leopard geckos for sale ranging from juveniles to adults.
