Mmmm.... Yes, I think you've got it!

Miles, I ordered two tigers, and all I have left is this 40g breeder. How long before I need to upgrade?

Oh, and I'm 13 and can't get a job or any money yet either.

So yeah I decided rays are fun but not exciting enough, so I am getting a Liger..

My 'Big Illegal Cat' Store has a Liger in stock, and I am picking it up this Friday.. already paid for it. Sweet! Not my favorite cat, but okay.

I've had cats before, I bred a Siamese once.. but maybe Ligers are different? Can you tell me everything there is to know about a Liger? Like.. what kind of food it eats, how big it gets.. stuff like that. I have some purina cat chow here so I was going to start it off on that until I can find a good book on Ligers. Not many books, but cat chow should work. Just use some fresh meat to hold the chow together in bite size chunks. I hear Ligers get pretty big, but it takes lots of time and by then you will have moved out and it will be your parents problem anyways.

oh yeah and I have a 6x12' dog kennel for my Liger, this is the biggest my apartment could hold.. will this be good for my Liger for life? Sure, if you don't mind the Liger having a short life.

and 1 more thing how do you sex a Liger and will it breed in my dog kennel? You sex the Liger from outside the kennel (very important) otherwise it might just breed with you.:WHOA::WHOA::WHOA:

Thanks.

:naughty:

The point of this thread;

Stingrays, just like Ligers, are specialized animals that take a large amount of time, thought, money, and effort.

Sadly, people buy Stingrays with No prior knowledge of how to take care of it.. "It's just like a fish!"

It makes me wonder, would people buy Ligers with No prior knowledge of how to take care of it..? "It's just like a feline!"

It was all in good humor.. :D

(ps. good link for people who start these type of threads)

Miles is going to create a speed-link to this thread. We'll see it everywhere in the stingray forum! :ROFL:

BTW;

This thought started when a teenage kid came into my work today looking for feeder fish and sand.

I had a hunch, and asked him if he owned a Stingray? Of course he did.. it was in the car! The LFS who sold them the 'teacups', said they just eat feeders and need sand.. That's their only care requirements. 48g bowfront was fine for life.. they only get about -this- big (holds out flat hand)..

Although annoyed, I showed him to the sand and feeders. I tried pretty hard to offer my advice, but heck.. I just work for a corporate pet store what do I know? :screwy:
