Yeah ... Cat Tails? near Sandpoint? The place with all the big illegal cats kept in undersized cages? pretty close to where I live, thinking their in Idaho.

That's where I am picking up my Liger.. friday.. night.. :nilly:

Not sure, it's been a while...

Male ligers are actually much larger than 20% more than a lion. Ligers are the largest cat on the planet.

Yeah no growth inhibitor.. damn wyld you know alot about ligers.. lol

Miles is one of my better friends on this site(we both live in E. Wash too, I like ALL Washington members better than anyone else on here:ROFL:)....Friends (when adults) can disagree, it is actually healthy to have differing oppinions...I hear his point loud and clear. He is one of the top dogs here under 50:D I just have the complete opposite opinion on this matter....

I dare you to go into his store and act like a total noob..

but yeah I could of tried to whip out my big johnson and be like "well I breed stingrays and I have a 400g tank and i used to import" blah blah blah..

but nah I just said I had some brichardi's once and they were fun.. then he corrected me on my 'fraunch' pronunciation.

Also loved how he told me to check out only good LFS in town, because thats where he shops.. (This is where I got my first 3 rays from).. that LFS even sells Stingrays! That's what he told me.. wow!

After that, it was time to make up a fake project and discontinue the story-telling..

It was fun.. can't stand those customers. Do you keep fish to brag or for enjoyment? I bet if he was on MFK he would have a really long signature and over 10k posts.

It sucks that he assumed he knew so much and let me speak so little.. maybe he would of learned some stuff from a guy half his age? Naaa.. he works for a corp. pet store :D

You will always have those kinds of people. I know what you mean because I deal with a few selling things on craigslist. Sucks but if you hate dealing with them then it may be time to seek a different job.

It was all in good fun..

and 10k posts and a long sig is more of a 'mentality' than a cheap shot at Bruce.. he's aight. There are alot of people out there like the customer I was referring to.. you know the type ;)

No matter how long you've been in this hobby there is always something new to learn, and that could even come from someone who is newer to the hobby and hasn't imported fish. I know it's annoying talking to "big shots" but don't discount everyone who tells you something you didn't know just because they're newer and don't know bragging isn't attractive. And don't get stuck in the idea that you know everything there is to know about any one thing.

I've heard BWB, Nic, and who knows who else by the time this thread is done.. Your worrying about other people too much..

and wtf are you talking about my 150,000th day?

You're the attention hoe that is always #1 on the 'Time Online' list.. haha

150,000 days.... Let's see... Is Moses here??

After 410 years you'd think he would have something to contribute to this!

I love your rants Miles!

Always keeps things interesting, and I completely understand where you're coming from about people not really stopping for a second to think that maybe you DO know what you're talking about. My example - I used to frequent a local aquarium society while going to University a couple years ago, and most of the members were at least 10 years my senior. Not much, but it seemed enough that they all thought they knew far more than me and no one really gave me the time of day (I tried, but whatever - chances are I had been keeping/breeding cichlids for far longer than any of them anyways). They were all African cichlid nuts (as WAS I), and even after I was in Malawi working for Stuart Grant for a half year I still couldn't really get the time of day from most of the members, and just had no need to put my recent experience in their faces. I felt it was better to just sit back and enjoy. It is sometimes better to just listen than to tell, and I know this forum has a lot of 'lurkers' who do the same every day.

He said he wants a Liger! who are you to tell him he can't have one?

don't worry about the size of your dog kennel; its common knowledge that Ligers only grow to the size of their enclosure. cat chow is fine, and they'll probably even eat leftover pizza crusts. just make sure you clean out the cage at least a few times a year if you want him them to breed
