Just remember that you need to keep a close eye on them for a couple of weeks or so. They may look like fine now, but once things are settled, the Oscar could consider the BGK as a potential threat and attack it.

I had an oscar and a BGK.... got along great

Wait, you didn't put the BGK in QT, you just put him in your tank?!?!!!?

Good luck with that.

FYI that BGK WILL outgrow you 100 gallon tank. Plan an upgrade.

I haven't qt any of my fish and I never had a problem. I don't just dump them in right away. If I don't upgrade the tank. Than I will take it back to my lfs when it out grows the tank.

I have not yet met a person who hasn't eventually regretted not quarantining. Eventually you will have serious issues and you will loose a lot of fish. Its only a matter of time.

Why risk the problems?

The "It won't happen to me" scenario is a little juvenile. As is not having a plan to care for your pets throughout their life span. Better check to make sure the pet store will take a grown BGK. Very few will.

I'll have to start qt new fish then. This is the first I have heard of doing so. I'm some what new to this. Only had my tank for a year now. Thanks for the info tho. When I bought the bgk I asked about bringing it back when it out grows and they said it's not a problem.
