I have a 300gl with a 50gl sump and a WHOLE lot of current

Tankmates are.... 11" Gold Wolf, 13" GATF, 8" Armatus, 5-6" Geo S.
6" Sail Fin Pleco and as soon as my 4" Orino can get more size he will be in there too

I want to know what they eat and most imp. how aggressive they are.

Thank you

they are relatively peaceful, with those fish you will have no problem
they wont be able 2 fit any of tose in their mouth so u will b fine
they eat aquatic inverts (shrimps ect.) also will eat frozen and fresh meaty foods
wut is ur substrate? as they like 2 burrow
good luck!:headbang2

I just want to start off with... the Wolf is not aggressive what so ever. A lot of people get worried when I mention my Gold Wolf.

N-E-Ways... I have Color Quartz 3m sand "T-grade" all on the bottom. I have 2 bags worth on the floor of the 8'X30"2' tank.

Are these guys fairly active or are they more like Bichirs??

Thanks for your help:D

just make sure the fire eel is large enough because I've watched my Armatus rip a 10"+ eel in half when the armatus was around 8". they were fine together for the longest time and then one day im lookin at the eel poke his head out from under some drift wood and i realized there wasnt much left of him other than his head and a little bit of his mid section! the second half of his body was ripped off clean and about 10 min later the armatus finnished him off. I don't think he did it out of hunger either he was just being a territorial prick. :)

WOW, gatta re think it then.

Thanks

i think it would b worth a try
in a 300 theres more than enough room for him and he will burrow in ur sand a lot
they r pretty quick when they want 2 b so idk if he would really get beat up 2 bad

Im ganna keep it open but right now Im ganna pass. I already spend about 60-70 bux on feeders every 2 weeks. i hate to throw 20-30 bux on a slim fish that could get wacked over night.
The thought crossed my mind but then jumped out:ROFL:

Thanks:D

ya...sorry to ruin it for ya bro lol I had to try it myself and learned the hard way. :) My armatus has eaten soooooooo many potential tank mates it's not even funny. 2 EBJD's (when the A was small), 3 eels (1 fire, 2 tulip), about 6 of my poly's ranging from 8-12", half a dozen rope fish (up to 15"), tons of tats/scombs (before i realized he was an armatus), oscars, common pleco (didnt eat just harpooned him and let the body float away)...etc etc not to mention all the convicts and other fish meant to be food. :)

The only fish i've successfully kept with him so far are the largest of my poly's which are all 12-15"+ and fat as hell and i'm confident the only reason they are alive is because of how fat they are and how well fed he is. Though they do smash each other daily he just always head buts them but doesnt bite.

I'm sure it comes down to an individual's temperment as well and mine has proven to be a BEAST! eheheh

oh and btw my Armatus is now about 17-18"...

A fire eel should do we'll in your tank there not agressive they love worms and usually eat shrimp

you will need to watch for aggression from some of your tank mates and watch the pleco as it may try to suck the slime coat off of your eel
