thinking about making a red texas...

Here's a carpintis x kkp I kept. I love him.

Most of the pearly ones that faded early were Orange. This guy is normally half red/gold and the bars are disappearing (sucks cause I really like the stripes on him for some reason). Head is down due to a recent spawn.

Looks beautiful. Any other pics of his siblings?

Thanks he really looks better in person especially with natural light coming through the window. My buddy has a few siblings to this guy and one is a great big pearly red beast I will have to stop by and take some pics.

I do think your best bet for a start on an rt project is a female red kkp with big head. Using a rose queen would give a lot of the fry an ugly long face (just like if you used female midas or red devil). Make sure that your kkp is red though. I would guess red shock or red monkey would give you awesome results.
