If you can find a male sawback (Black-knobbed) map, that'd be awesome! They retain a lot of their juvenile characteristics, which includes the saw blade carapace.

you i read up on them but i doubt i will be able to find one so im looking into bringing one myself with a permit and such. i want a saw back specially since i have seen yellowblotched but ya like i said feds are protecting them so black knobs were next on the list but the lack of color discouraged me compared to the yellow blotched and i love stinky pots so im kindof getting stuck here help me guys im tryingto sort through stuff but i cant make up my mind...
Here's are some pics of my "ghetto" turtle tub. It holds 30 gallons but is only filled about 3/4 of the way if that. I plan on building a nice shelving unit in the next few weeks to put most of my herp and fish tanks in. But I should probably finish drylocking my basement walls first! 
thats awesome man thanks vicous i went to find out the price of the stinkys today at my friends store and she said they werent for sal cause they are only 1.5inches i told her another friend bought a male and female at about 2inch size from their store but my friend asked her boss and he insisted they werent for sale till fourinch length and i said they may no even reach that size with the two of them in a ten gal 1/4 filled...so im going to keep trying so i can rehome one of those ...i think i made my mind up for the stink pot instead of a map/saw back...and if i get the 55gal from my friend i will consider the reeves again i would hate to get the reeves then she doesnt give me the 55 then im stuck trying to buy a larger setup for the reeves so stinkpot it is i will keep working the people at the store cause i know they have a history of selling undersized turts (specially ones that stay small like stinkpots) and i will post flicks when i get one...thanks again vicious for the site recommendation and your setup flicks i really like that setup...
Thanks for the complements. A Musk turtle is a great choice, you won't be sorry! I hope that you are able to make a deal. Heck, maybe you can even catch this pet store some exotic turtle species and make a trade. This size tub works great for my stinkpot because he's still so small, not much bigger than 2 inches in shell length.
how high is the water level in there for him cause i know there not the best of swimmers but i do see the rock ramp which im sure makes it easy to get in and out of the water...oh and no catching of exotic turtles as there are none that are native to our waters all we have are RES and we have plenty of breeders to supply local petstores with them so i doubt it on the trade. but thanks.
I'm not sure, but I think the water level is about 10 inches or so deep. No, they aren't the best swimmers but they can make quick frantic dashes when they need to. Musk Turtles prefer to walk along the bottom. They are really good at climbing and love to explore rocks and driftwood for food. He has a basking area, but he never comes out of the water. He loves his little cave, it's his safe zone!

mmmmm...its rare for me to come across those species i just happened to go through that two month spurt of finding the chinese box, vietnamese pond, musk, and chinese softshell and so on...i regret adopting out the chinese box and the musk one chinese boxes are rare two they are stunning as far as looks and behaviour go(one of the only box turtles i have ever wanted) and that musk i found was so adorable and cute looking...oh well i adopted them out to good homes that i trust will take proper care of them so i am happy for those animals, no turtles have come through my "Rehoming Program" as i call it,in a long while...but perhaps if i do find something i can trade out...i was going to go hiking today so ill check some streams and pond areas as i find them...
