I was thinking that a turtle would look good in my tank,

question is what kind of turtle would be good in it?

the tank is 210 gallons
and right now i have two gars, an asian red tail catfish[NOT SOUTH AMERICAN!!:irked: ,a oscar and a jaguar cichlid all fish right now are between 4"-7" not including the gars which are currently 17.5" and 11"

i was thinking of getting rid of the cichlids anyway and possibly pic up a pair of retic rays.
but maybe not.

anyway i was thinking of something other than RES and other common turtles, possibly a mata mata, but i dont know,
help me out

thank in advanced

There is a vast amount of difference... all i can say is google it!!

exactly:D

sooo any turtles you guys recomend?

There are plenty of turtle keeping with fish threads on here. If you look at pretty much any turtles diet... look at what makes up the main portion of its diet. A mata mata would be an extremely poor choice too. In fact it is recommended that an frt is just about as good as turtles can be with fish, and even then people have noticed damaged/missing fish because of it....

The only turtles I have ever kept with fish were painted and musk turtles and they were outdoors in a pond with native gamefish. So it's hard to say if they got in scraps or not, but in most cases with Fish VS. Turtle, the turtle will come out a winner.

Musk turtles stay small and are more aquatic then painted turtles and sliders. Plus, they don't come close to reaching their size. They are slow swimmers and tend to walk along the bottom looking for things to eat. They can't really catch fish, but if they can corner a slow bottom dweller, well......

and the mata mata never, because it would not survive in a full fish tank..Too deep for her, i would say...
