The FRT is the only "ideal" choice per se.
It IS true that most turtles will eat fish, and the rest will nibble. Even musk turtles (Which DO grow to full size)

If there's one thing you can count on, it's plenty of poo, and plenty of growth, and enormous amounts of food. Just not ideal for keeping in a fish tank.

It sure does! But by "ideal" it is the most "ideal" of all turtles for the purpose.
