I was thinking of starting up a pretty large African setup and already know im going to get three odoe pikes, one or two synodontis catfish same size as the pikes, as well as a flatnose or giraffe catfish. but wat other fish could I keep, and wat are some cool African plants I could put into the setup? Also would an elephant nose be an okay occupant?

??????

elephant noses can be hard to feed, and you can`t keep them with many other electric fishes unless you have an entire shoal.
they are shy and they may be picked on.

I love Mormyrids but they seem to not fit into most set ups. how about a tilapia buttikofferi?

I have 2 odoe with a mbu puffer and gatf you could get other species of tiger fish

would the fahaka harm any of the others(odoes, syno cats, giraffe or flatnose catfish)?also would bichirs be alright or would they harm the catfishes I plan on getting all fish at around seven to eight inches long

Fahakas harm EVERYTHING. they have to be kept alone. Mbu`s can be social but it really depends on the individual personality of the puffer

im srry I meant mbu puffer but if puffer is well fed and he has a lot of driftwood and plants to explore will he most likely get along? as for plants would tiger lotus also work? last question srry for all the questions but wat would bichirs be like? im also putting an aquarium safe small crocodile skull as a center decoration for tank with some of the plants growing around it

oh no problem haha, they are both african puffers. Mbu can be housed with other fish depending on the Mbu. some are aggressive some are not. It`s really the luck of the draw i`m afraid.

I have heard they are easily kept with small fish that are not a threat to them. like african cichlids. I saw on here once that some guy had a huge Mbu in with a tangynikan cichlid set up and it was beautiful.
If you did have a mbu that tolerated tankmates then yes I imagine having lots of things to do and explore without getting bored would make him less likely to bother his tankmates, they are very intelligent fish and they can get bored fairly easy.
