Thinking of getting a corn snake :)

There are some good frozen feeder vendors online. We use micedirect.com. they have good sales often. If at all possible stay away from live feeders. Your corns will likely do fine with frozen right off the bat considering their age.

I'm in the uk so not sure I they would ship here but I'll check it out :) it's illegal to feed live here even fish :screwy: and they have always had frozen and never been a problem to feed :) I'm thinking about getting a boa in the near future so I'm hoping to have the same luck :)

Wait whatt?!?!

I really like my corn snakes and there is a really nice baby boa constrictor for sale near me, I've been researching n they seem fairly easy to care for apart from the huge size so I'm thinking if getting it lol

Boas need higher humidity than corns so you'll have to keep an eye on that or they'll start having shedding problems and/or respiratory infections

Yea, I have been doing a lot of research about them and the humidity has to be around 50-60% and bumped to 70% during shedding? And the best way to do it is with a large water bowl, some type of moss but I can't remember the name and misting if nessesary

Ambient temperature should be around 80f with the heated area around 90f?

They have heat ducts so if they won't easily take food soaking it in warm water helps?

They need regular handling so they are used to people and to help prevent them acting to defensively, the only times I shouldn't handle it would be when it's in shed or for 24-48 hours after feeding

I know they can live for up to 30 years with good care

The rest is pretty much the same as corns as far as I can tell, spot cleaning, fresh water daily

If there is anything I have missed or you think I would fine helpful for keeping or deciding to get the snake that would be very appreciated

Sounds like you did quite a bit of research. Great job! I like to use cypress mulch for bedding becuz it does a great job holding moisture to help with humidity. For my retics, I also give them a heavy mist once or twice a week. I prefer a humidity around 90% when shedding that way there is absolutely no problem with shedding. When young, I also like to provide 2 hides, 1 in the warmer and cooler area and I pack them full of moss so that they can go in and soak up more humidity.

i would think their would be a higher calcium and protein load in mice more since a birds bones are hollow

Also there's more nutrition in mice than chicks since chicks are still developing and mice are full grown so their bones and meat are packed with nutrients. This is assuming that you're talking about adult nice and not pinkies fuzzies or hoppers
