Ok so we know the tank size. Next important question is "Has this Oscar always been by himself?" If you answer yes to this question putting any fish in with him could be a big problem. Even if your oscar is mellow, cichlids that never have had tank mates or have been alone for months or years can have big issues with new fish being put in their environment.

The oscar isn't the problem its the flowerhorn. The oscar would get destroyed before the it did any damage to the flowerhorn.

I have a 125 with a male and a female flowerhorn, a texas, a green terror and a pink tailed chalceus. They all get along together fine so I wouldn't totally eliminate getting a flowerhorn as it really all depends on the fish. The key is I only have 1 male and he is the dominant fish and the largest flowerhorn. Also buy a flowerhorn that is about half the size or smaller than oscar. Just big enough to not get eaten of course.

Well my Oscar lives with a common pleco they leave each other alone but that's about it and there were 4 large tiger barbs in with him but when he got bigger he ate them. Im just not sure what i should do cause i don't want him to get hurt or over stressed if i add another fish but on the other hand i think he should have a pal and become a little more active.

always a tough one, and while it could go 50/50 you could always try getting a dempsey to go in with him. but like i said its 50/50, some depmseys are chill and just want to eat and sit around, some are hellraising devils.

as far as a FH if you care about the oscar, i agree with everybody else dont risk it
