Went and had my water tested today and everything was good except there was ammonia in the water. I did about a 45% water change when I got home and everything is good. Added more of that smelly bacteria crap though so tomorrow I'll have a stinky room again XP
It's just sooo boring having a pretty tank with nothing in it. I wish it would be done cycling so I can put some stock in it. I'm really debating on just giving up on doing salt at all until I have a bigger tank and more funds. Opened my mouth too soon cause I don't have the position at my job yet or at all at this point. blah. Suchi s life for an impatient soul....

That aside, you shouldnt do an h2o change when you see ammonia...you should wait till there is 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and some nitrate.

When you get to that point, do an h2o change, and then begin stocking.

Well, I haven't had it tested yet this week but the amonia is around .o2+ I'm trying to save my money right now and the LFS does free water tests. Like I said, I think I'm going to wait on actually doing saltwater until I completely understand it and can afford everything so I can do correctly the first time.

Ha yes lots of research will help you big time. It is still a learning process and mistakes will be made. Just don't get discouraged and try to prepare for everything you are going to do with saltwater. Saves money that way too.
