I found a silver arowana over a foot long for sale. i Want to get him but i only have one tank that would fit him and it is a 180 gallon but this tank already have a community of red devils and two oscars. anyone knows if it would be alright to put a silver arowana in there? thanks

U would need to put the current size of ur fish..But A RED DEVIL COMMUNITY AND 2 OSCARS AT 180 sOUNDS A BIT FULL..bLOODSHED WILL FOLLOW IF U DO..

so you think the aro would have to fight for his space if i do put an arowana in? the fishes i alread have in is about8 to 10 inches each already.

Well here is the tank mates in the 180 gallon. im not sure if they are red devils or midas. I also have another tank that would be possible but the tank mate would be a 11 inch jardini.

A 12 inch silver could easily be killed by that group of cichlids you have. This does not mean it would be killed. The 180g tank will only be able to properly house the silver aro for one maybe two years at most, are you going to be able to get a larger tank when the time comes?

Putting the silver in the 80g with the jardini is even more of a bad idea. Not only is the tank way too small for two arowana that size, the chance of them fighting is very high.

you would've had a better chance of success, if you'd purchased the 2 oscars and the silver at around the same size. but, to try and introduce a silver in with the 2 oscars, you're going to have a battle. the oscars will pick on the silver. as far as red devils go, i've never had one, but i hear that they are mean as a bucket of rattle snakes.
