Thinking of Getting Convicts-Have some questions

I'm going to be adding another tank, probably a 30 gallon. I am interested in breeding convicts to generate some feeders for my Flowerhorn. If I have a pair of convicts, is there anything I can keep in the tank with the convicts, or is it basically just the convicts and thats it. Will the convicts take over the whole tank, or just a portion?

I'd say it's a safe bet the Cons will take over the tank. I've seen 2'' Cons stand up for 10''+ Oscars and come out on top, with the O in the corner of the tank. Sometimes they will only take over an x by x space, but it's more likely they'll want to dominate the whole thing.

in a thirty... convicts only, especially if they are paired

and add some clay flower pots for shelter so they feel safe to breed

I'd say just Cons would be big enough for a pair of Cons...if you're looking for something like an Algae Eater, I'd go with a big Apple Snail.
