Thinking of getting into Cichla. Couple questions.

About your tankmates, they are all on the dinner menu in 2 more years.

The Paratheraps, sagittae, oscars and lyonsi are all 10-12" max size fish and pretty feisty. I didn't think they would make an easy meal. Especially the Paratheraps as they are very deep bodied too. The bullheads are close to a foot long already and pretty dang thick. The cons can go in another tank and the longears are expendable lol. The striped shiners are all about 5-8", which will make good food i think, if they live that long. They are pretty short lived. The Green sunfish, unless he grows another few inches will go in another tank. That should cover everyone I think, although I've been wrong before. I've also got a 2" spotted bass that is already hammering pellets. He should make a good tankmate. They max out at 2' but I expect about 16-18" in a couple years and that'll probably be it.

Def think you got a lot going on in that tank.. It is huge but like stated before your gonna get hooked I started with 2 cichla a day later 3 ... Month later after that 6. Now I have 8 lol.

Yeah, I'm already thinking about who's going to be relocated. Some of the current list will be ok with cichla, others will have to be moved to other tanks, and the longears and shiners might end up being sacrificed someday lol.

I had mannnny different fish and many diff tanks .. But cichla and arowanas are just Somthing special, it's a real addiction. The time an money I put in to my fish now is unreal but I love it, never cared about my fish in the past as much as I do now it's like that are my children for real lol

Just got my first cichla in from Wes today and I'm pretty excited. I'm loaded with grass shrimp right now, so they should have some good snacks pretty soon. :)

Been a while since I've updated this, but I just moved my bass into the big tank from a couple 75's they were growing out in. I've been doing some work on my tank and really pushed the limits in the grow out tanks imo, but now they are swimming "free" and happy lol. Pretty big stock change as well. The higher temps did in the shiners, I got rid of all the sunfish except for one, and two of the 3 wc convicts are out. Still need to catch the last sunfish and convict and there's a white tailed shark that may end up as dinner really soon. I've got one of those new Orino's coming that Mark/Discus Origins is bringing in and I'm saving up for a couple more bass from TUIC sometime soon. I'm not much of a photographer but I promise pics soon lol.

On with the pics!
Lots of nice cichla available now. azuls, kelberi's, orinos, pinimas and even xingu.
